Tim's Passions
My name is Tim and I am 34 years old, and seriously passionate about many aspects of gardening. I was born and raised in Europe, UK and America, and currently reside in York, United Kingdom. I love nature in all its forms, real music, real food and real people. Having put behind me a life of corporate office work, instant coffee and a lot of irrelevant politics, I'm glad to say the meetings, flowcharts and demoralising end of year reviews have been swapped with secateurs, muddy boots, climbing trees and the sound of birds. Suffice to say I will never look back, and love being a gardener more than ever. As I've grown older, I've become frustrated with the lack of nature, and the related knowledge in our busy stressful lives. We live in the information age, so there is a lot of information out there concerning our impact on the environment, yet many people still seem to be apathetic toward more resourceful and respectful lifestyles. We should all take the time to know the nature that surrounds us, and how to embrace it.Instead of sitting back and feeling frustrated with supermarkets, packaging, and overpriced bad food, I decided that I wanted to do something. I started to combine gardening with another passion of mine, food, since I eat so much of it and was a professional chef many years ago. I'm talking about real food, not the junk that's identified and accepted as food these days.These are the reasons why Sarah and I started to grow organic produce on our allotment and greenhouse in York during the Spring of 2008. I have turned a new "leaf" in my life in appreciating the joy of growing your own food, and helping people create wonderful gardens to be enjoyed for many years by all.
